Qualitative, semiqualitative and interval algebras, and their application to engineering problems

چکیده
This paper proposes the use of semiqualitative modelling for reasoning about the behaviour of complex physical systems. Semiqualitative modelling is a generalisation of qualitative modelling which refines the set of intervals that values may be expressed in. Semiqualitative algebras are introduced, their most important features discussed, and related to qualitative algebras. The advantages that semiqualitative modelling offers over qualitative modelling are demonstrated by the solution of an example from the field of biotechnology. Finally interval algebras are introduced as a generalisation of semiqualitative algebras, and it is proved that it is possible to switch between different interval algebras in the course of computation in order to preserve the greatest possible degree of precision.

A Multi-Criteria Analysis Model under an Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Environment with an Application to Production Project Decision Problems
Using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) to solve complicated decisions often includes uncertainty, which could be tackled by utilizing the fuzzy sets theory. Type-2 fuzzy sets consider more uncertainty than type-1 fuzzy sets. These fuzzy sets provide more degrees of freedom to illustrate the uncertainty and fuzziness in real-world production projects. In this paper, a new multi-criteria ana...
متن کاملA Semiqualitative Methodology for Reasoning about Dynamic Systems
A new methodology is proposed in this paper in order to study semiqualitative models of dynamic systems . It is also described a formalism to incorporate qualitative information into these models . This qualitative information may be composed of. qualitative operators, envelope functions, qualitative labels and qualitative continuous functions . This methodology allows us to study all the state...
متن کاملSHAPLEY FUNCTION BASED INTERVAL-VALUED INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY VIKOR TECHNIQUE FOR CORRELATIVE MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION MAKING PROBLEMS
Interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIFS) has developed to cope with the uncertainty of imprecise human thinking. In the present communication, new entropy and similarity measures for IVIFSs based on exponential function are presented and compared with the existing measures. Numerical results reveal that the proposed information measures attain the higher association with the existing me...
متن کاملSoft Computing-based New Interval-valued Pythagorean Triangular Fuzzy Multi-criteria Group Assessment Method without Aggregation: Application to a Transport Projects Appraisal
In this paper, an interval-valued Pythagorean triangular fuzzy number (IVPTFN) as a useful tool to handle decision-making problems with vague quantities is defined. Then, their operational laws are developed. By introducing a novel method of making a decision on the concept of possibility theory, a multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) problem is considered, in which the attribute value...
متن کاملSome types of $(in,ivq)$-interval-valued fuzzy ideals of BCI algebras
In this paper, we introduce the notions of interval-valued and $(in,ivq)$-interval-valued fuzzy ($p$-,$q$- and $a$-) ideals of BCI algebras and investigate some of their properties. We then derive characterization theorems for these generalized interval-valued fuzzy ideals and discuss their relationship.
